In 2017, I started a video essay series on YouTube with the Foundation for Economic Education called Out of Frame. It’s mostly just an extension of the way I already think about media, but it turned out to be pretty popular and by the time I ended the series in 2022, it was instrumental to growing FEE’s video channels from virtually nothing, to more than:

  • 340,000 subscribers on YouTube

  • 42 million views

  • 2.7 million hours of watch time (avg. 4-minutes)

  • 1.7 million likes

My work has earned two Silver Play Button from YouTube — for Out of Frame and for another series I created and still produce called Common Sense Soapbox.

I’ve also recently started a new series that I work on in my spare time called Create & Destroy. If you liked Out of Frame, you’ll probably like that.
